Dr. Figueroa applies Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) approaches to his practice of psychotherapy. CBT attempts to alleviate suffering and improve symptoms as quickly as possible, while Psychodynamic Psychotherapy aims at uncovering deeper motivations and causes for feelings, decisions and personality styles. Dr. Figueroa tailors the application of these methods according to the patient’s needs, preferences and strengths.
